Dog GONE! IT'S ALMOST Winter.

Dog gone! It's almost Winter! Doggo's love it! 'They don't feel the cold!' ... well actually, they do. Depending on the pup, some feel it more then others. Greyhounds and whippets for example must have a coat on especially while outside during Winter. With the tiny amount of fat they have on them, and a thin coat. They shiver pretty quickly if not rugged up!
A dog needs a walk every day. Rain or shine. It's good for you and it's good for them. Coop's and I walk more than once a day, and on a rainy day, he always has his coat on. So much easier to dry him up after the walk when his body is still dry! So important to dry them off as much as you can, especially their armpits and between their toes so water doesn't sit and create rash or cracked paws. I taught Cooper to LOVE the hairdryer. He has is own parked in the garage, along with his towel and brush. It's loves it when we get home and the drying starts hahaha... even hands me his paws to dry them.
Make sure they have warm bedding to come home to. Especially for our seniors. Your furbaby should never be sleeping outside at night. Dogs, like us suffer from limited mobility through arthritis as they get older, and that always feels worse in the colder months. Keep them warm and even give their legs a light massage if you like. They love it!
Food! Winter warming, nutritious food to make sure they are able to maintain energy levels while their body keeps warm. Rice ir a great winter food. Add a bit of bone broth to that and you are on a winner! throw in some protein...chicken, beef and they will bowl you over to get to their dinner! Make sure they stay hydrated with water always on hand.
As an extra treat, serve up a Pizza For Pooches in their favourite flavour! They'll love you to pizzas!
Last but certainly not least... CUDDLES!! Lots of cuddles will keep you both warm, and who doesn't love a cuddle from their pooch!
